Craftsmanship

From a block of marble to a murti

A marble murti is shaped, carved, detailed and finished in stages, with the face, eyes and hands given the most time. Our craftsmanship page follows a murti through each stage.

The material

Why marble

Marble takes fine detail, can be polished to a soft sheen and lasts for generations with simple care. Natural veining means every piece is slightly different.

We work with Makrana marble, Vietnam marble, Jhiri marble and black stone, as well as other stones to suit each order.

Questions

Asked often

More answers on the FAQ page.

How much does a marble murti cost?

The price depends mainly on the size of the murti, the type of marble, the amount of carved detail and the finish, such as a natural polish, painted details or gold work. Where a price is listed, you will find it on the product page. For other pieces and for custom work, we give a written quotation on request, with packing and shipping shown separately for international orders.

Can I request additional photographs?

Yes. If a product page does not show a view you need, such as the back, the side or a close-up of the face or hands, ask us and we will share what we can. It is sensible to see enough detail to be confident before you order.

Can I order a custom marble murti?

You can ask us about a custom murti through the custom order form. Tell us the deity, the posture or form, the height you need, the finish and your timeline, and we will reply with what is possible and a quotation.

Can you ship internationally?

Yes, we can arrange shipping outside India. Tell us your country and city when you enquire, and we will include packing and shipping in your quotation.

How does international delivery work?

After the murti is finished and approved, it is packed and handed to a carrier. Smaller pieces usually travel by courier and larger pieces by freight. The shipment then goes through customs in your country, where import duties and taxes may be assessed, before final delivery to your address. Delivery estimates depend on destination and shipping method, and we confirm them in your quotation.
